Ireland after the storms



There was not much snow in winter 2013/2014, only a little a bit on higher grounds as you will see in my next post, but we had very bad storms ( up to 170 km/h), high waves and floods. Here are a few photos of some areas taken after the storms and horrible weather.




The whole parking area was under water, so we could not walk to the castle, but the swans enjoyed it, they
thought it was a new lake!








There were 14 mobile homes destroyed on this site, the owners probably won't be happy about that, but as that are only holiday homes and not their permanent residences they will get over that, I suppose.
Appr. 100.000 households were without electricity for days, farmers' fields became lakes and lots of houses got damaged by the storms and the high waters.
