Winter 2015 in Ireland

This winter feels more like spring, the roses in my garden started to bloom again and also some of the pansies and geraniums. No surprise as they got lots of water and it was not too cold and actually is one of the warmest winters on record, the meteorologists say. I did not see a single snow flake this year, which makes me a bit sad, because like most people, I would have liked a "White Christmas"! But the lack of snow is not the worst problem this country faces, as it rained cats and dogs for a number of weeks, Ireland is flooded in many areas, people are devastated as their homes are damaged and businesses ruined. Unfortunately this is how the year 2015 has ended for many Irish! ( see pictures below)
