The Brownshill Dolmen, Baltinglass and Blessington

Blessington is wellknown for its lakes and for the hydro electric dam "Poulaphocha". Baltinglass lies on the banks of the River Slaney, both areas are in County Wicklow.
The Brownshill Dolmen is to be found just outside of Carlow town.

Glendalough

We had a wonderful weekend, though the weather was not perfect, but we were happy as it did not rain.
We drove up to the Wicklow Mountains to visit Glendalough with its Monastic Site with its famous round tower, built in the 10th century. There are two lakes in the valley and this is where Glendalough gets its name from ( gaelic: Gleann dá lough, meaning valley of the two lakes.)A selection of trails and forest walks through this beautiful nature area and national park is what greets the visitors.

Wir hatten ein schönes Wochenende, obwohl das Wetter nicht perfekt war, aber wir waren froh, dass es nicht geregnet hat.
Wir fuhren die Wicklow Berge hinauf, um Glendalough mit seinem Mönchsareal und seinem berühmten runden Turm, welcher im 10. Jahrhundert erbaut wurde, zu besuchen. Glendalough erhielt seinen Namen von den zwei Seen, die sich in diesem Tal befinden ( gaelisch: Gleann da lough bedeutet Tal mit den zwei Seen.) Eine Anzahl von Wanderwegen führen durch den wunderschönen Nationalpark, wo der Besucher die Natur geniessen kann.
