TULLN in Lower Austria, May 2014

Tulln is a city in Lower Austria where the Danube runs through. It is famous for it's beautiful garden exhibition, which is one of the largest in Europe. You can get there by train from Vienna, station: Franz Josefs Bahnhof or near the underground U4 (green line) station Heiligenstadt.

Tulln ist eine Stadt in Niederösterreich, die an der Donau liegt. Diese Stadt ist für seine wunderschöne Gartenausstellung bekannt, welche eine der grössten in Europa ist. Du kannst per Zug vom Wien dothin gelangen, Station Franz Josefs Bahnhof oder in der Nähe der Untergrundbahn U4 (grüne Linie) von Station Heiligenstadt.

LAXENBURG in Lower Austria

When you are visiting Vienna you should go on a trip to Laxenburg, it is really worth it! When you get the bus from the bus station Südtiroler Platz, you  get directly there. The price per person one way is 2.50 Euro. Laxenburg is only about 12km from the outskirts of Vienna.
As it was hot this May in Vienna, we were glad to walk through a nice shady area with lots of trees. If you are romantic you can take a boat and enjoy the time with your partner on the water.

Wenn Du Wien besuchst, solltest Du unbedingt nach Laxenburg rausfahren, es ist die kleine Reise wert! Du kannst den Bus von der Station am Südtiroler Platz nehmen und gelangst so direkt dorthin. Preis pro Person per Fahrt ist 2.50 Euro. Laxenburg ist nur ca. 12km vom Wiener Stadtrand entfernt.
Da es sehr heiss war, als wir heuer im Mai in Wien waren, waren wir froh durch ein nettes schattiges Gebiet zu marschieren, umgeben von vielen Bäumen. Wenn Du romantisch veranlagt bist, kannst du ein Boot nehmen und Deinen Partner am Wasser spazierenführen.

"Meuterei auf der Bounty" musical from Günther Mohaupt

Als wir  in den vergangenen Tagen in Wien auf Urlaub waren, machten wir auch einen kleinen Ausflug nach Wiener Neudorf, wo wir uns dieses Musical angesehen haben. Wir waren sehr begeistert, die Inszenierung hat uns sehr gut gefallen! Die Musik war ausnehmend gut und kann sich durchaus mit bereits bekannten Stücken messen und Günther Mohaupt, die Besetzung und alle die an der Durchführung dieses Projektes beteiligt waren, haben den donnernden Abschlussapplaus redlich verdient. Wir waren sehr stolz auf Michael, den Lebensgefährten unserer Tochter, der in dem Stück mitgewirkt hat!

When we were on vacation in Vienna the past few days, we made a little trip to Wiener Neudorf, where we watched the musical "Mutiny on the Bounty". We were very enthusiastic about the production as the music was exceptionally good and can easily withstand a comparison with already known musicals. Günther Mohaupt and his cast of characters and everyone who helped to realize the project deserved the thunderous applause at the end. We were proud of our daughter's partner Michael who participated in this show!

In dieser Abteilung kann man auch riesige Meteoriten bestaunen.

In this department you will find stunning meteorites.

Die Venus von Willendorf, gefunden 1908 in der niederösterreichischen Wachau. Diese kleine Dame ist nur etwa 11cm gross und etwa 25.000 Jahre alt. Unglücklicherweise liebt es die Venus zu reisen und ist nicht immer in diesem Museum ausgestellt.

The Venus of Willendorf was found  1908 in the Wachau in Lower Austria. This small lady is a symbol of fertility, she is about 11cm high and about 25.000 years old.

Unfortunately the Venus likes to travel and is not always on display in this museum.

Ich fand die Abteilung der Saurier und anderen Urzeittieren sehr beeindruckend.

I found the department of the dinosaurs and other animals from primeval times very impressive.
